Big Gig 2013 is a nationwide network of FREE live
music events happening across the UK from the 11th -14th July.
Under Wraps Music is happy to
announce they will be hosting 3 events across the Our Big Gig weekend!

Our
Big Gig – Live on Bar Maroc Terrace
The event will begin with an open drum
circle lead by Senagalese drummer Ibou
Badji. The drumming will start from 7pm and is open to all levels of
experience.
Live music performances from:
'Sandrani'feat Vanessa Rani & Joe Harris
Vanessa's unique vocal style incorporates Indian and African singing techniques. Mixed with Jazz and soul sprinkles this duo provide the perfect ambience for your listening pleasure!
'Big Wave'
feat. Martin Chung & Marc Leyton Bennet
Fusing numerous genres and world music styles, the duo will improvise using
loops to produce layers of textured sound.

perform acoustic covers of Bob Marley songs. This is open to anyone who is up

decided they would ‘make the type of music Bob Marley would listen to if he
were still alive today’. This guiding principle, sees them tackle political and

A day of live music and sound
experimentation! An open day The Orangery that is currently the home of ‘A Maze
For Yorkshire’ featuring a cartoon style Maze in the grounds of The Orangery

Ways you can be involved…
Come and play the ‘Funky Junk’ sculpture, a interactive junk musical instrument
featuring homemade marimbas, bataphones water drums and fish vibraphone!
We are looking for local bands and acoustic
performers to play at the event.
Either to be one of our ‘Amazing Buskers’ playing acoustic
music from the centre of the maze…
Or feature in our local ‘Live Band Showcase’.
